Hello, fall. This has always been, and will probably always be, my favorite season. The weather this past weekend has solidified that. And it is one of the very best things about living in the northeast part of the country, which boasts some breathtaking fall sunsets, cool, crisp air, and colors straight out of a painting. With help from the natural fall foliage, I love decorating this time of year. And it may be nesting kicking in, both figuratively and literally – as I’m due with our third child in just a couple of weeks, and currently closing on a new house at the same exact time (two things I definitely don’t advise you to attempt to do together), but I have been pinning fresh, new decor ideas like crazy. The new house has a big, wrap-around front porch that I cannot wait to fill each season. Here are some images of seriously inspiring outdoor seasonal decor ideas that I am loving right now.
1. Halloween Theme
I love all things Halloween, and decorating with this holiday in mind is easy to do by adding spooky elements like black crows or witches hats or broom sticks.
2. Pumpkins in Planters
Filling existing planters with real or faux pumpkins means you can recycle urns you already have and it gives the decor a little added dimension by being able to place items at different heights.
While I usually stick with the full array of colors that fall has to offer, I think a simple, monochromatic color-scheme is also a great, crisp, clean look. And white gourds are a fresh alternative.
4. Using Pumpkins for Purpose
I came across a few doorsteps and front porches that used pumpkins to welcome guests, display their house number and sport fall phrases. The look is easy to achieve with a Sharpie or paint pen in the color of your choice.
5. Natural Fall Foliage
The use of fallen leaves and bunches of seasonal flowers grouped together is always classic. It looks natural and effortless.
