We Have A Boy!

Welcome to the world, Caden James.  We finally have a boy!  Well, by we, I mean my sister and her husband and that is close enough.  After two goddaughters, two nieces, two daughters of my own, a boy was born into our family on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon.  I now have a nephew, and we could not be more thrilled.  He has the most perfect head, the lightest little eyebrows and the longest fingers.  So looking forward to seeing a lot more blue around here after years of pink, and watching him grow into the person that will protect all of the girls that came before him.

Roundup: Fringe for Fall

I have loved fringe for a long time, as in since middle school, and now that it is popping up everywhere, there are so many different ways to wear the trend for fall.  From fabric totes, to sandals, to key chains, to earrings, this is such a fun and affordable fashion movement to follow this season.  Here is a roundup of nine of my favorite pieces of fringe for fall, and each is under $100.

Our little bloom.

This is always the hardest month for me, and probably the reason why it took me so long to capture these photos.

Officially further away from the first day I met you, all shiny and brand new, and closer to you reaching the full one year mark.  Bittersweet and hard to believe.  I miss the newborn smell and sleepy stage already, but am so excited to watch you grow.

Sweet Sixteen Dinner Party Sneak Peek

Here is a sneak peek of a sweet sixteen birthday dinner party we styled and designed the other night.  The weather didn’t cooperate with us, as the pink-lemonade-stand-themed party was set to be outside on the terrace overlooking the lake, but we moved everything indoors just in time.  The colors were girly, but sophisticated and the drink and dessert tables created on top of old wine barrels were fun, interactive elements.

Looking forward to posting a full recap of the dinner party with amazing photos and a full list of vendors and resources.  Stay tuned!

Something for Saturday: Feel Good, Do Good Leggings

Just a little something for Saturday.

feel good do good leggings

I see women almost every day, myself included, in leggings.  Cropped leggings, long leggings, solid, printed, vibrant, popular, comfortable leggings.  For me, they are the most versatile piece I own.  I wear them to yoga studios and for long runs, walks with my kids, on weekends, on days with endless amounts of errands to cross off my list.  They just feel good.  And this pair of leggings, made from 37 recycled plastic water bottles, does good, too, keeping bottles out of landfills and oceans around the world.  If you haven’t already done so, check out Threads 4 Thought, the company behind this great looking sustainable clothing and active-wear.

Happy weekend!
