A Few Of My Favorite Things {This Week}…

{A few of my favorite things this week that I either just discovered or already know I couldn’t do without}

rainy night blog pic {As I was sitting down to write this week’s list I was interrupted by the brief absence of rain.  It had been such a constant drumming on the window pane, serving as a sort of background music as I wrote, that all the things on the forefront of my mind had become related in some way to this dreary weather.}

1.     Yellow Raincoat – In college I scooped up this bright North Face rain jacket at the sports store where I worked part-time nearby school.  All these years later it still cheers me up no matter how dreary the day.

2.     Maui Sunsets – There are a small handful of things that I truly appreciate more than a fiery sunrise and sunset, and Maui has some of the most breathtaking there are.  I think about the stunning island here and there, but always on bleak days.

3.     Starbucks Vanilla Brulee Hot Cocoa – While hot cocoa is largely reminiscent of snow days and grammar school play-dates, I revert back to this little mug of happiness whenever I need some warming up.  And this vanilla brulee flavored hot cocoa by Starbucks is extra special.  Just add hot milk and mini-marshmallows and you have complete bliss in minutes.

4.     Spicy Apple Candle – My mother-in-law sent me this spicy apple hand-poured candle from a recent trip to Carmel, CA.  I have yet to burn the candle, but it sits on my desk next to other pretty things that make me smile.  The real apple slices and cinnamon sticks are deliciously fragrant; it smells as amazing as it looks.  And since I spent so much more time indoors than usual this week, it was a great pick-me-up.

  1. So glad you love it! The candle reminded me of you and the scent so amazing. Hope it continues to cheer you while you are taking a break from Spring and having to stay indoors.

  2. How can I add a hit counter to my blogger blog?
